The story of Shadow Hearts begins in 1913 when a young English girl's father is murdered by a man named Roger Bacon in Rouen. A month after witnessing her own father's gruesome death, the girl--Alice Elliot--was on a train to Japan, escorted by the Japanese army. However, along the way Roger Bacon appeared on the train, killed all of the Japanese troops, and proceeded to kidnap Alice. Still Bacon was not allowed easy passage with the girl. Inturrupted by a youth--Yuri Hyuga*--with the rare ability of Fusion, Bacon's prize was temporarily lost when Yuri was able to "kidnap" Alice himself.
Very little is known about Yuri right away, but the player soon realizes that Yuri was guided to the train by a mysterious voice that basically commanded him to find and protect the girl Alice Elliot. Each time the voice sounded in his head, Yuri felt as though his head his head might explode, so he had little choice but to do as the voice said. |
